Community Open Letter: The Future of Cornerstone

Dear All:

After some weeks of discerning the future of The Cornerstone Center, we have requested and have been accepted by the Franciscan Renewal Center (FRC). By June 30, our office will move into the Casita and share space with the Arizona Spiritual Companions. We will continue our regular meditation times in the lovely Meditation chapel on FRC grounds, schedule our retreats and days of renewal as we share and unite with the contemplative community there.

This is such a grace for the Cornerstone community! Their generous acceptance offers us a way to continue the work of contemplative meditation and spirituality in an atmosphere of beauty and silence. We invite you to come and meditate with us and share in the Franciscan gifts of "generosity, simplicity, poverty and cooperation with the Spirit." For those not familiar with the FRC we urge you to view the web site, www.TheCasa.org. You will find a vital and dynamic community. Please watch for the announcement of schedules for meditation and up coming fall events. May your summer be restful and graced with the Spirit!

Sincerely,

Joanne Rapp

Spirituality of Healing with James Finley:
3-Day Retreat in Tucson

Join James Finley for this engaging and contemplative retreat that will explore the healing power of spirituality June 20-22, at the Hilton Tucson El Conquistador, in Tucson, Ariz.

The retreat singles out seven traumas or sources of suffering to which we are subject as human beings, then goes on to provide seven steps that heals these seven sources of suffering. Methods of meditation and other exercises are provided to help us stabilize and grow stronger in each step of the healing journey. The retreat focuses specifically with the ways in which spirituality can be a resource in healing from the long term, internalized effects of childhood trauma and emotional deprivation. But equal attention is given to how each of the seven steps heals all forms of suffering. The seven steps are presented as a path that gravitates toward becoming a healing presence in the midst of the world. The goal is seen to be becoming someone in whose presence others are more freed up to experience healing in their own lives.

Cost is $225 ($100 of registration fee is nonrefundable. No refunds given after June 1.) Registration fee includes Friday appetizers on the lawn. Meals are not provided. To register and for more info visit jamesfinleyconference2014 or contact Sharon at sharon@mediomedia.org or call 1-800-324-8305.
